TAKING TAMOXIFEN OR FEMARA/ARIMIDEX?

YOU ARE NEEDED FOR AN ARMY OF WOMEN STUDY !!!

Participation involves joining the Army of Women and then enrolling in the study.  It's an online study and you will be directed to the survey immediately after answering a couple of questions.  It took less than thirty minutes of my time. Thank you for taking to the time to consider participating.  This is the information from the AOW Website:

Project Title Endocrine Therapy after Breast Cancer Study (E-ABC Study)
Researcher Annette Stanton, Ph.D., University of California Los Angeles and Ann Partridge, MD, MPH, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston
Study Summary In an effort to find the best way to help medical personnel and women diagnosed with breast cancer, researchers have developed an online survey to understand women’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors relevant to taking endocrine therapies. You don’t have to leave your house to participate! Five hundred women are needed for this study.
Who Can Participate? You can join the Endocrine-ABC study if you match ALL of these criteria:

• You are a woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer
• You are now taking, or have taken within the past 12 months, one of the following pill-type medications: Nolvadex (tamoxifen), Arimidex (anastrazole), Aromasin (exemestane), or Femara (letrozole)
• You have access to the Internet and are willing to complete an online survey
• You live in the United States

The researchers are interested in the experiences of ALL women, including those women who do or do not regularly take their medication, those who stop their prescription before the date recommended by their physician, and those who switch from one endocrine medication to another.
What Does Participation Involve? If you join the study, you will be directed to an anonymous online survey, which will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Questions ask about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors relevant to taking endocrine therapies.
Where? Anywhere in the United States

  1. I think this makes it easier for women to see that the commitment (time-wise) is limited but it can be very important in finding answers.

  2. Thanks, Kathleen...
That's part of the reason why I decided to repost the entire "call to action" ..... Sometimes, it's just easier to see for yourself. Ironically, the day AFTER I completed this study, I did have an issue with my weakness in my ankle that is directly attributable to the Femara! Odd coincidence and a swollen ankle later......

Thanks again for your continuing support!

  3. Looks like I am "qualified" for this one... You know, I signed up to be part of the Army of Women and have not received emails or info. What should I do if I want to participate here?

Thanks, Ann Marie, for your passionate advocacy.

    1. Hey Nancy!

Did you try the "Sign me up" link in this entry? That MAY take you to the sign up page. As for that email issue, I would definitely email AOW. You can probably do this through their Facebook page. They have now embedded the sign up and some of the studies so you can click through Facebook without ever leaving the application.

Let me know .... I can contact two of the girls that work in the office to find out what's happening. Don't understand why you wouldn't be getting emails...... obviously you check your spam folder.... but I have one email account that blocks the spam and never even lets me see it. I stopped using that account altogether!

Thank YOU, Nancy for sharing your life with me!
